Atlas
Privacy Policy
Effective August 17, 2026
Atlas is an iOS training app made by Atlas Fitness AI, Inc.(“Atlas”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use the Atlas app and the atlasfit.ai website, how we use it, and the choices you have. We wrote it to be read, not skimmed — it’s short because we collect little.
The short version
- We collect what’s needed to run your training account: your email, a name and @handle, basic body metrics you enter, and the training data you log.
- We don’t sell your data, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other apps or websites.
- Progress photos stay on your device unless you turn on cloud backup.
- You can delete your account, and everything in it, from inside the app at any time.
Information you give us
When you create an account and use Atlas, you provide:
- Account details— email address, password (stored only as a secure hash by our authentication provider), first name, and a public @handle you choose.
- Profile information— gender, birthdate, height, and weight. You may also add a profile photo.
- Training data— the programs you build, exercises and sets you configure, sessions you complete (including weights, reps, holds, rest, session notes, personal records, and how a session felt), and any custom exercises you create.
- Progress photos— optional photos you take or pick after a session. See Progress photos below for how these are handled.
- Feedback— bug reports and feature requests you send from Settings, along with the message you write.
- Beta requests— if you request access to the Atlas Training Beta on atlasfit.ai, the email address you submit.
Information collected automatically
- Timezone— so your training days roll over at the right local time.
- Sync metadata— timestamps and device-side identifiers needed to keep your data in sync between your phone and our servers when you’re online.
- Website analytics— atlasfit.ai uses Vercel Web Analytics, which is cookieless and reports aggregate page views only; it does not identify you.
- Rate limiting— the beta-request form records a one-way hash of your IP address to prevent abuse. The hash cannot be reversed to your address.
The Atlas app contains no advertising or analytics SDKs and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA). We don’t track your activity across other companies’ apps or websites, so iOS will never ask you for tracking permission on our behalf.
Device permissions
- Camera— only when you choose to take a progress photo.
- Photo library (add only)— only if you turn on “Save to Camera Roll”; Atlas can then save the photos it takes to your library. It cannot read your existing photos through this permission.
Both are optional; Atlas works fully without them.
Progress photos
Progress photos are stored on your device first. They are uploaded to our servers only if you turn on Cloud Backup in Settings → Privacy (it is off by default). Backed-up photos live in private storage that only your account can access, and are used solely to show them back to you and restore them if you sign in on a new device. Turning cloud backup off stops future uploads; deleting a photo in the app removes it from your device and, if it was backed up, from our servers. We never use your photos for anything else, and no filters or edits are ever applied to the stored original.
How we use your information
- To run the service: sign you in, keep your data in sync, and show you your programs, history, records, and stats.
- To personalize training features (for example, calculating volume from your body weight, or estimating session time from your setup).
- To send account emails — verification codes, password resets, and security notices. We don’t send marketing email.
- To read the bug reports and feature requests you send us, and reply if needed.
- To invite you to the beta if you requested access on our website.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell personal information, and we don’t share it with advertisers or data brokers. A small number of service providers process data on our behalf, under contracts that limit them to providing their service to us:
- Supabase— hosts our database, authentication, and file storage (United States).
- Vercel— hosts the atlasfit.ai website and its aggregate analytics.
- Apple— distributes the app through TestFlight and the App Store under Apple’s own privacy terms.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or security of Atlas, our users, or others. If Atlas is ever acquired or merged, your data would transfer with the service under this same policy.
Your choices and rights
- Access and edit— your profile, body metrics, and training data are all visible and editable inside the app.
- Delete your account— Settings → Delete Account permanently removes your profile, training history, photos, and files from our servers. This is immediate and cannot be undone.
- Photos— toggle cloud backup and camera-roll saving in Settings → Privacy; delete individual photos any time.
- Email— account and security emails are part of running the service and can’t be switched off while you have an account.
If you’re in a region with specific data-protection rights (such as the EU/UK under GDPR or California under the CCPA), you can exercise them — access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection — by using the tools above or emailing us. We’ll respond within the time the law requires and won’t treat you differently for asking.
Data retention
We keep your data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is removed from our systems promptly; short-lived backups age out within a limited period after that. Beta-request emails are kept until the beta program ends or you ask us to remove yours.
Security
All traffic between the app, the website, and our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Data is encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Access to your training data on our servers is restricted to your own account by row-level security rules. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password — and tell us at the address below if you believe your account has been compromised.
Age requirement
You must be at least 16 to use Atlas. Sign-up asks for your birthdate and does not let you create an account below that age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has created an account, contact us and we’ll delete it.
International users
Atlas is operated from the United States and our providers store data there. If you use Atlas from elsewhere, your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S. as described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
When we add features that change how data is handled, we’ll update this page and its effective date, and for material changes we’ll let you know in the app or by email.
